8-Week Course
Would you like to respond to stress with greater clarity and steadiness?
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a well-established, evidence-based programme that supports people to work more skilfully with stress, anxiety, pain, and the challenges of everyday life.
Developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre, MBSR integrates mindfulness meditation and gentle mindful movement to cultivate moment-to-moment awareness and a compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with experience.
What the Course Involves
Mindfulness Meditation
Guided practices such as breath awareness, body scan and sitting meditation support the development of awareness, emotional balance and steadiness.
Mindful Movement
Gentle, accessible movement practices help cultivate physical awareness, grounding and an integrated mind–body connection.
Group Sessions
The course includes eight weekly sessions, each lasting approximately two hours, along with a half-day retreat. Sessions combine teaching, guided practice, experiential learning and group reflection in a supportive environment.
Home Practice
Participants are invited to engage in approximately 30 minutes of daily mindfulness practice to support integration and long-term benefits.
Benefits of MBSR
Research shows that participation in an MBSR programme can support:
- Reduced stress, anxiety and low mood
- Improved emotional regulation and resilience
- Greater focus, clarity and mental well-being
- Support in managing chronic pain and health conditions
- A deeper sense of calm, balance and self-awareness
MBSR supports individuals in taking an active role in their well-being by developing sustainable mindfulness practices that can be applied in daily life.
